Hodge podge

Konnor having fun at the church picnic

How was everyone's week? Mine was pretty uneventful. One thing we did accomplish this week was a budget. I am so hooked on Dave Ramsey( if you don't know who he is you should 8o) So we as a family have decided we are going to get debt free. Its alot harder than it sounds.Trust me!!!! Then last night I went the youth group to the youth rally in Zanesville,Ohio. A 3 hour trip in a bus that could use a little more cushy seats and 28 teenagers. I left Konnor with my mom for the night which was a good thing since we didn't get back till 4am. I didn't get much sleep last night. So today is going to be full of household stuff.( cleaning,laundry.....) One other thing I did this week is put my first item up for sale on ebay. I hope this is the beginning of a great thing. We will see. Both things I have for sale though have bids on them so that is exciting to me.I have put up a hodge podge of pictures. A few from here and there. Enjoy!Have a wonderful Fall weekend!!!

Meatloaf cookies

I know you are thinking" what in the world is meatloaf cookies?" My mother-in-law makes these wonderful cookies called mincemeat cookies and she made them for the family reunion last week. It was really funny to watch as people would walk by and pick one up and take a bite. What a shock to realize that the cookie that you thought was chocolate chip was something you couldn't quite place. My mother-in law explained to them that they were and it became a joke to try and get someone to like"meatloaf cookies". They are actually very good so I am going to include the recipe( especially for you Julie). They are a really good cookie for fall time. A little cinnamon, spice, and apple all mixed in. If anyone tries them let me know how you like them. You can find mince meat by the pie fillings at the grocery store. They are one of my favorite!!!! Yum....

Mincemeat cookies
1 cp. shortening 1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 cups sugar 1/2 tsp salt
3 eggs 1(9 oz.) box None Such condensed mincemeat, crumbled
3 cups flour ( this is the actual brand in the store)

preheat oven to 375. In large mixer bowl, beat shortening and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs: beat well. Stir together dry ingred. gradually add to shortening mixture. mix well. Stir in mincemeat.
Drop by rounded tsp full, 2 in apart onto greased baking sheets. Bake 8-10 minutes or till lightly browned. cool.

A Fun Weekend

family reunion
This past weekend we went to our annual Ayars family reunion at Lake Hope State Park.( it is close to Hocking Hills in south eastern Ohio) We look forward to it all year. We got there late Friday afternoon and got all of our stuff unpacked. Everyone stays in cabins right next to each other with a big camp fire right in the middle. The cabins are very nice with two bedrooms,a full bathroom, and a furnished kitchen. We shared a cabin with Randy's sister Suzanne and her husband Scott. Friday night we had a cookout and just hung out around the fire talking. Saturday for lunch everyone brought food and we put it all together. Everything was so good. The weather so so nice. Very chilly at night and we all wore sweatshirts during the day. It was beautiful. We were sad alot of the family couldn't come this year but we had so much fun just hanging out and talking with the ones who could come. The kids had a blast playing with cousins they only see maybe once or twice a year. Well it is time to get stuff done around the house. Laundry it at the top of my priority list today. TTFN...

I just wanted to post a couple of new pictures that I recently took.Konnor wanted me to take a picture of him and Kade and I thought it was so cute. The next one is one I took of Kade on Sunday. He was smiling but when I snapped it I only got part of it but it still turned out cute. There is not much going on around here today. I took Konnor to story time at the library and came straight home. Exciting huh. My van is in the shop so I cant go anywhere.( I borrowed a friends truck to go to the library)Friday we are going to a family reunion in hocking hills so I need to start getting ready for that. Cant wait! I hope you all are having a good day.

13 years ago I got married to a wonderful man! It has been a great 13 years and I would do it all over again. We have had our ups and downs but I can say we have had more ups than downs and it gets better every year! God has blessed us so much. What else can I say. Besides "I love you Randy and I cant wait to find out what the next 13 years holds for us. "
