My CVS trip last week

If you remember I told you last week that I had to spend a 39.95 extra buck that was expiring on Friday. My bounty included:
2 jumbo packs of Huggies
an 8 pk. of Viva paper towels
All laundry soap
2 pks. of ziplock bags
2 Colgate toothpaste
2 Aquafresh toothpaste( trial sz)
1 tube of Neosporin
1 pk of Kotex pads( w/ a free sample of Midol on top)
1 Campbells soup to go
1 pk of fun sz M&M's( Konnor's for being good)
1 Cadbury egg( my Easter time weakness)
1 Crunch Crispy candy bar( I had to throw that in to bring my total up to the right amount)

I paid for all of this with my 39.95 extra buck and had to pay .45 out of pocket. woo hoo

Lunar Eclispe

This was taken by a newspaper reporter( with alot better camera than me) in Monroe,OH (where I live)This was taken by me( with a bad camera) from my front porch in Monroe,OH
Did any of you perchance see the lunar eclipse last night? We were getting ready for bed last night when my mom called and told us to check it out. What a spectacular night for viewing it!! Not a cloud in the sky. The Earth, Moon and Sun all lined up so that the earth cast a shadow on the moon. At full eclipse the moon had an orange glow as in the first picture. My girls thought this was the coolest thing ever. Right next to the moon you could see Saturn. If you had a telescope you could see the rings around Saturn. My girls were wanting to scour the neighborhood looking for one.(a telescope) The next total eclipse like this wont happen till December of 2010. As you can tell I love things like this. What a marvelous Creator we have!!!

Kade's 6 month pictures

I just thought I would show off Kade's 6 month pictures. Keep in mind that I did not buy all of these but They gave me a cd of all of the poses so I could have the ones I didnt pick. I just loved the look on his face in the red background. Enjoy 8o)Amy,you can post yours now 8o)

A little bit about nothing

Emma came to visit and play with Konnor when she was in town last week. I think Kade liked all of the kisses.
This is Kades favorite place to sit when I am working in the kitchen.(dont worry,I dont leave him unattended)

Wow, it is Tuesday and I havent posted my menu plan for the week or anything. I am getting lazy. No really I just have a baby that cries, kicks, tries to pull all of the wires out of my computer, or just grabs and eats every piece of paper on my desk when I am trying to blog so I just dont blog when he is awake. Yesterday when he was sleeping I was doing other things. So now it is Tuesday and I am trying to catch up.

We had a pretty uneventful weekend. Saturday we went calling with the outreach team and Sunday was good for a couple of reasons. I didnt have to cook lunch because we were invited to our friends the Blevins house( thanks Bev and Kris for the wonderful lunch), and the GBS choir was at church in the PM service and they were so good.

Now to Menu plan Monday. I got to thinking about it and I dont think I am going to make a menu this week. It might be making a mistake but I am running low( already) on the grocery budget so I am going to try and eat what we have in the house. I have planned my menu for the past couple of weeks and it has worked great but there have been a few days that we have eaten something else or we have gone to someones house. I have several things that I need to get out of the freezer so I think this week we will be cleaning out the pantry and the freezer. It would probably be easier if I did make some sort of a menu but I just dont feel like it.

I havent posted about my CVS trip lately but this week is gonna have to be a big spender week. The reason being I have a 40.00 extra buck that expires this week so I have to make my order total be that much after coupons so I am really going to have to plan good before I get there. I will let you know later in the week what I came up with. Well I hope you all have a good day. I am off to do laundry. TA TA.......

Greek Chicken and Pasta

This stuff was so yummy!! It is different than anything I have ever cooked before but it was good. The kids didn't think so and Konnor wouldn't even touch it but I guess that leaves more for Randy and I. The ingredients are mostly things I wouldn't eat but put all together it was pretty tasty. It had marinted artichoke hearts, sundried tomatos in oil, feta cheese, black olives, onion, cicken and penne pasta. Put it all together and yummmmmmmm.

The Surprize Date

For a couple of weeks now my friend Sarah Holden and I have been planning to take our husbands out for Valentines day.As a suprize! We decided to do it Monday so they would not suspect it. It turned out to be great surprize. Paul didnt even know where we were going till we were almost there. We went to The Cheesecake Factory and we had a wonderful time! Sarah's bithday was on Tuesday so the waitress brought her Key Lime Cheescake on a special plate with Happy Birthday to you wrote in chocolate. After dinner I had Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cheesecake and Randy had Banana Cream Cheesecake.Yummmmm Good food and good company makes a good night. We had a great time Paul and Sarah!!

Thanks so much to my wonderful Mother and Father in law who agreed to keep my kids for the evening. They fed them dinner and gave the boys their baths. Kade had his 6 month shots that ay so he was a big grouch all night. Thanks again!!

My New Favorite Thing

Reed Diffusers. I absolutly love these things! I have always loved candles and my tart burner and I still do but my mom got me a reed diffuser for Christmas and I have fallen in love. I know I am being a bit dramatic but they make my house smell so good. Candles only smell good when you burn them and you cant burn them when you are away from the house. They come in so many different scents too. My sister found Yankee Candle diffusers clearanced at Macy's when she was here in January and I just opened it up.( Pumpkin Spice) I am going to see if it is any better than the cheap ones I have been buying at Kohls. Kohls had them for 4.99 last week so I bought another one. French Vanilla this time. Mmmmmm

Yes I am still alive

I think I am becoming a once a week poster and I dont like it. I am going to try to do better. I am not promising though. There has been so much going on in this house I dont know where to start. My week didnt start off to good. All of you who go to church with me. How did you like our grand exit from church? ( sorry Michele for the mess) Just let me say when your 3 year old says his "tumick" hurts, take his seriously. Yep you guessed it he threw up. At least he made it to the door going to the hall way. From there all of the way to the bathroom wsnt so nice. So that is how my week started. He is feeling a little better now so now I am wondering who is next. I am praying no one.
Starting in January Randy and I jumped on Dave Ramsey's bandwagon. We ARE going to get rid of debt!!!! Its not going to happen overnight but we do have a goal and we are working hard to meet it! We have never used a budget( sorry to say) and now we trying to get used to it. I have a grocery budget and I sticking with it even if it kills me. Shopping at CVS has helped so much!! I pretty much dont have to buy any personal toiletries now and I have not had to buy Tide for a month now. I have had so much "extras" I have had fun giving stuff away. My friend Michele says she hates grocery shopping. Well I am the opposite, I actually like it but I hate giving my money away. Too bad you have to have one with the other.LOL My problem is I am an impullsive buyer. Do any of you have that problem? I have been trying to go into the store and get ONLY whats on my list. I used to go shopping for a whole month but I have decided that is is easier to shop sales and save money by going once a week. I am also a coupon junkie. I wont go to the store unless I have coupons. You can save so much with coupons.Michele posted her menue plan and I thought it was a good idea so I am going to post mine. I am going to try and do this every week and would love to see other people plans too. I hate cooking the smae things over and over. So here goes......

Breakfast is pretty much cold cereal every day.

I pack luches for the girls and Randy every day. Konnor and I eat whatever we find in the fridge or pantry.Leftovers alot.

Monday; Beef and noodles( made w/ leftover roast from Sunday) mashpotatos and corn
Tuesday; Cheesy chicken and bean quesadillas ( www.pillsbury.com) chips and salsa
Wednesday; Beef stew and home made bread
Thursday; cheesy chicken tortilla lasagna( www.pillsbury.com) salad
Friday; ground beef and twice baked potato pie and homemade bread
Saturday;chili speggetti
Sunday; Roast and all the fixins

I have a subscription to to the pillsbury cookbook you see in the checkout isle. That is where i got my recipes, but I think you can get them on their website too. Well I have a screaming baby in my arms so more later......
