Did you get blown away by IKE?

I dont think my magnolia bush will ever be the same again. At least it didn't uproot.

I always thought it would be cool to be in a hurricane but now I am not so sure. We only had category 1 winds but you cant get gas( only if you wait in line for hours), there is no milk in the stores( so I bought pop tarts and juice), people waiting in line at the grocery for the ice delivery man to show up, no schools open, and the list doesn't stop there. I am very lucky that we were one of the first ones to get power. We live very close to a nursing home so I think that helped us out.

I think it was really neat to be outside and get blown over by the wind though. Konnor was scared. We tried to get him to outside but he said"Im to wittle,I might blow away" Since we live in a newer subdivision( no big trees) we didn't have too much damage. Our neighbors had siding and singles blown off and a couple of little trees broken but that is all. Some friends who live a mile down the street had huge trees blown over in their yard and driveway. Kaitlyn and Megan spent the whole day helping them clean up. My poor mom and dad don't have power or water.( they have a well so the well pump doesn't work) Any one who needs food or a shower is welcome here.8o) I cant imagine going for a week without power. I don't think I would make a very good Amish person.LOL
So what do you do when you don't have church and you cant cook and it is getting dark in your house? You have a party! Thanks to our friends Katie and Duane H. for inviting us over for a cook out and providing cheap entertainment.8o)
