I FOUND THEM

I am so excited!! I know some of you are wondering if I have done lost my mind. Well I have posted in the past about my deals at CVS. Well this month they had these blood glucose monitors on sale for 30.00. I was told of a coupon worth 50.00 for these monitors and you can also earn 20.00 in extra bucks. Well all month I have checked and called every CVS I could think of and they did not have any. Well today I struck gold. I got 3 monitors and paid 0.00 and I got 60.00 in extra bucks to spend in the next month. Add that to the 26.00 I earned the weekend after Thanksgiving and I now have 86.00 to spend. I have never done any Christmas shopping at CVS but I think I will start this year.8o)

A great long weekend

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY DAD!!!

Wow, What a weekend! It was great but it was busy! I hope everyone else had a good thanksgiving. I am upset with myself though. Me being a scrapbooker and a blogger and I didn't even get a picture of all of the food on the table. It all looked so good I just sat down and started eating.( after we thanked God for it). I thought about it after we were finished and we were cleaning up but I didn't think that would be a very good picture. My mother in law outdid herself again this year. All of the food was soooo good and of coarse I ate way to much. I didn't even make anything. I took sweet potato casserole but kaitlyn made that. She loves to cook so I gave her the recipe and put her to work. She did a good job and it tasted great! We had fun visiting with Randy's brother Robert and his family. With his 5 kids and our 4 it was quite the happening place all day. Konnor and Josiah being about the same size decided that would wrestle. It was so funny but I didn't get any pictures or video. I will have to get some from Suzanne my sil and post it later. I did get a picture of them hugging afterwards so they are still friends.8o) Martha and I made a trip to CVS( yes on Thanksgiving day) and got some super bargains. I wont bore you with the details but I got alot of stuff for no $ and came out with extra bucks to do more shopping with this week. whoopee!! Friday I did not go out shopping early like I always do. 4:00 in the morning didn't sound good to me this year. Konnor was up sick half of the night anyways. I missed doing it but oh well maybe next year. Randy, the girls,my nephews David and Eric, Paul Holden and his kids, and Randy Jewett drove to Lima, Ohio Friday night to watch our Hometown high school football team play in the state semi finals. (they lost) So me and my friends Sarah Holden and Michele Jewett hung out all night. We went out for dinner at Red Lobster and did a little shopping. Yes we went to CVS again to educate Sarah on the CVS game so now she is ready to start getting deals too. I love deals and getting stuff for free. We had to take along Kade and Konnor so it wasn't truly a girls night out but we did have alot of fun. We put our Christmas tree up Friday also. The kids did most of it so I didn't do much but clean up the mess.8o) Saturday we just hung out around the house all day. Randy had to work Saturday night so my parents came over and brought my nephews with them. The kids had fun playing and eating pizza so that made the time pass pretty quick. Sunday was normal so here I am today.Enjoying the peace and quiet with the girls gone to school and the boys still in bed. Thinking of all the things I need to catch up on. I really don't want to think about it. Kade is sick with a cold so I am having to use that blue bulb syringe to suck out his nose all of the time. That makes him mad(I would be too if someone tried to suck my brains out all of the time)but I don't know what else to do. Poor baby. Konnor is still coughing real bad but at least I am not having to give him breathing treatments every 3 hours. I forgot to mention my dad. Yesterday was his birthday and we celebrated at their house after church last night. I hope you had a great birthday Dad and I love you alot! Well I am off to scale Mt. Laundry. It might take me a couple of days but I will make it.I cant wait to read about all of your weekend. TTFN.....

P.S. I really dont know why my text came out long like this. It is driving me nuts.Oh well. sorry.

THE CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL

Every year our family goes to the Christmas Festival in Springboro,Ohio. We used to live within walking distance but since we have moved we go back every year. It is a tradition for us. It is in the historic downtown of Springboro and they close off the road so all of the vendors can set up. They have craft tents, entertainment tents, horse drawn wagon rides, kid stuff and all kids of yummy food. We usually go to the parade at noon and then walk the street and cruise the craft tents till we get hungry for lunch. Every year I look forward to a messy gyro and a big bag of fresh hot kettle corn. Its our once a year splurge. I wouldn't spend 7 bucks on a gyro any other time.8o) My kids stopped at the Domino's Pizza booth for pizza. All of that good food and get something they can anytime of the year. Hmmmm Oh well we had alot of fun today and now we can look forward to next year. Smiles 8o)

Happy Happenings

Megan My dad
Kade( Yes there is a body in those blankets somewhere)

It seems like forever since I last posted. I have been busy and i haven't had the time. Last Friday night we had home builders. We had fun socializing with all of our friends and eating good food. Saturday morning Randy went to the men's prayer breakfast so I spent the morning at home just being lazy. Randy worked Saturday night so the kids and I went to My mom and dad's for a hot dog roast. We had fun roasting hot dogs and marshmallows. The smores were soooo good. I am only posting a couple of pictures. I didn't get one of everybody but you will get the idea. I love bundling up and sitting around a good campfire!

I have to tell you about my CVS deals too. I had some extra bucks getting ready to expire so I bout a large box of Tide ,@ bottles of Dawn dish soap, and a glucose monitor and I paid .25 cents for everything. The glucose monitor was free and I got a mail in rebate to send in so I might make $ off of that. pretty cool huh?

I posted the recipes that I used last night to cook dinner. It was so good and so easy! The only thing I did different is I added a little ricotta cheese and about 1/4 of a pound of ground beef to the sausage mixture. I liked it because you don't have to brown the meat or cook the manicotti shells before cooking it. Add a salad and you have a full coarse meal.

We put Kade in the walker last night to see how he liked it and you can see by the picture that he did. He thought he was big stuff. And you wont believe this but he slept 10 hours last night.( that is not a typo) I am feeling rested today! 8o)

Last night Megan had a school music program to honor all of the veterans. It was really good. I am very patriotic and programs like that bring tears to my eyes and make me want to go join up. Megan has a teacher, who's husband is in Iraq for the second time, and she had a baby Sept. 11 that he has not seen yet. Those people deserved to be honored and not just one day a year!Well I hop everyone is having a good week. Till next time.....

Yummy dinner

Sausage Manicotti

This classic Italian entree comes together in a snap, but tastes like it took hours. “It's so tasty and easy to fix,” writes Carolyn Henderson of Maple Plain, Minnesota. “My family always enjoys it.”

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pound bulk pork sausage
  • 2 cups (16 ounces) 4% cottage cheese
  • 1 package (8 ounces) uncooked manicotti shells
  • 1 jar (26 ounces) Italian baking sauce
  • 1 cup (4 ounces) shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese

Cheese Biscuits

These savory biscuits from Lynn Tice of Osage City, Kansas couldn't be simpler to make! With from-scratch flavor and a golden-brown cheese topping, they're sure to be a hit.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 tube (12 ounces) refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
  • 1/4 cup Italian salad dressing
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese

For the manicotti you just mix the meat and cottage cheese together and stuff it in the shells.(Use a zip lock bag with the corner cut off)Top with the speggetti sauce and bake at 350 for about 1 hour. Top with Moz. cheese and melt.
  • For the biscuits just separate and dip the tops in the dressing and then in the parm. cheese. Sprinkle with the moz. cheese and bake at 400 for 9-11 minutes.

Happy three months to Kade

As I told you before you are gonna get that monthly picture of Kade sitting in his chair. He is three months old today. I am very blessed to have such a good baby. He sleeps a seven hour stretch every night for which I am thankful. He is a happy boy and very loved!
I did my monthly trek to the grocery store today. Let me tell you in one word how it went.STRESSFUL. Konnor is sick and hasn't eaten in 2 days. All he does is whine. I think the rest of us is coming down with it too. It is just a real bad cold but it always hits konnor worse than anybody else because of his weak lungs. But since I didn't have any food in the house I had to go. As always i went to Aldi first and got what i could there and then I went to Meijer to get the rest of the stuff on my list. I know it sounds like a huge thing to go to the grocery once a month but it so much easier for me to do it that way. I just make a list of everything i want to cook this month and then i make a list of all the ingredients I need. Check the adds for things I have coupons for and off I go. i got lucky to day that my mom was there too and she got one of the new cart that play movies in it for Konnor and pushed him around with her so I didn't have to mess with all his whining. Did I mention Kade was ready for a nap?LOL By the time I got out of Meijer Konnor was throwing a fit and screaming because he wanted to "touch me"( he wanted me to carry him).He couldn't quite understand that I couldn't carry him and push a cart loaded to the top with groceries and a baby seat on top. i couldn't get home fast enough. Oh well at least we have food in the house.8o) I hope your day was a little better than mine. I hope you all have a good weekend.

Weekend Happenings

Family Pictures 2007

I hope everyone had a good weekend! Ours wasn't too exciting. Though we did do something instead of sticking to the house all weekend. Friday night we had a surprise cookout, with the other couples of the home builders group from church, for Jim & Betty Jewett, Jerry & Gloria Snelling, and Mike & Sue Pennellatore. They have cooked for our monthly meetings and retreats so it was a " thank you" to them for all their work. We all had to bring our own meat and then Stephanie Phillips provided the bake potato bar. It was all so delicious! Saturday morning we got up and went to the annual family picture shoot at Portrait Innovations. One thing is for sure, getting myself and four kids dressed up in dressy clothes on a Saturday morning is not fun! Then trying to stay halfway presentable till you arrive is another matter in itself. We arrived and had to wait 45 minutes till it was our turn. It was Kade's nap time so I was trying to keep him happy and awake all at the same time. Ahhhhhhh Through it all I think they all turned out pretty good. Konnor was the worst. He wouldn't stand still or stay in the same place the lady would put him and all his smiles were fake. I guess that is what you get with a 3 year old. Saturday night the kids and I stayed home because Randy had to work. It was so nice getting that extra hour of sleep! Oh I have to tell you about my purchases at CVS. My friend Michele has hooked me onto the deals you can get at CVS. They have extra bucks rewards you can earn for buying different things. Well I had accumulated 13 of them. Saturday night I went to CVS and bought 4 Soy Joy granola bars, 2 bottle of Soft Soap body wash,1 bottle of Scope Whiting mouthwash, and 1 tube of Crest Whiting toothpaste with Scope and I payed .31 cents for everything and I generated 10 more extra bucks. ( I used 7 of my previous extra bucks) So now I have 16 extra bucks to use this week. They have Tide on sale so I will probably try and get that this week. I love getting deals like that! Well today is a typical Monday. Tons of laundry and a messy house to clean up. So Hi Ho Hi Ho its off to work I go. Cya

P.S. You can click on the picture to see the rest of our pictures from Saturday.
